Persephone

"Persephoné (Demeter Weeps For Coré)"

There are two mysterious sculptures - women? muses? - wreathed with ivy which grace the entrance to Station Square in Pittsburgh. They are particularly beautiful in Autumn, the season in which Persephoné yearly descends to Hades, causing her mother Demeter, to weep.
