This painting is from a photograph that Fred took, of one of the many gargoyles from St. Paul's cathedral in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that look out from behind the feet of saints, peering down upon us from high above. There are numerous mythological "faces" to be seen upon public buildings here in Pittsburgh, a provincial, but pretty town, that almost reminds one of the old capitals of Europe.
